Orande Mensink

Currently based in the Netherlands, my art practice is characterized by a colorful photography documentary style. Photography, creating images, is used in the broadest sense of the word. I love to experiment and use the type of image to fit the project: from cyanotype to polaroid emulsion lift, to digital photos. I use photography as a way to talk about people and places.

My work focuses mainly on the theme of memory; exploring the everyday habits and relationships of those around me. The research-based projects are inspired by personal narratives and archives. I gained a Master of Fine Art Photography with distinction from the University for the Creative Arts, Farnham (2015) and I hold a PGCert in teaching in the Creative Arts, UCA, Epsom (2019). I teach photography at Beeldcentrum (Fotovakopleiding, Zundert/Zoetermeer) and creative photography to adults through my own company.

I’m a member of Work Show Grow and Shutter Hub.
